Samantha Harris: The Cheesiest TV Host Ever

It's important to define cheesy to put this page into context (and so she doesn't beat me up too much).

It does not mean stupid, ugly, lazy or anything else like that. Samantha Harris is successful and it takes intelligence and drive to get the sort of place she is today.

After much research, I found a definiion of "cheesy" that I agreed with from UrbanDictionary.com:

Trying too hard, unsubtle, and inauthentic.
Specifically that which is unsubtle or inauthentic in its way of trying to elicit a certain response from a viewer, listener, audience, etc. Celine Dion is cheesy because her lyrics, timbre, key changes, and swelling orchestral accompaniment telegraph 'i want you to be moved' instead of moving you. Gold chains on an exposed hairy chest are cheesy because they shout out: "I have money and I am manly" instead of impressing a woman in a more subtle way, or allowing a woman to form her own judgments. The excessive showing off suggests he's compensating for what he does not have--i.e., he's actually poor, insecure, or short with an inferiority complex. Cliches are often cheesy because they are an obvious and artless way of making a point. A movie might be cheesy if it contains 'on the nose' dialogue, like "I can't live without you" or "You had me at hello."

A seasoned journalist, Harris is a correspondent with E! Entertainment Television's E! News and host of THS Investigates. In addition to writing, producing and reporting daily for E! News, she co hosts the network's live award show coverage for the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmys. Morning show viewers have also enjoyed Samantha's contributions as a special correspondent on Good Morning America.

Prior to joining E!, Harris served as the weekend co host for Extra, where she interviewed hundreds of celebrities. She also launched the first ever Las Vegas bureau for Extra, as the anchor.

Her other hosting credits include Fox's The Next Joe Millionaire and AMC Access. Additionally, she also served as a guest co-host on The View.

Her acting credits include Eric Idle Exploits Monty Python, Surviving Gilligan's Island, Reefer Madness!: The New "Hit" Musical (original cast), Beautiful, CSI and others.

As a model, Harris is a three time cover girl for Muscle & Fitness: HERS and has been featured in MAXIM, SELF and SHAPE magazines as well as numerous ads and commercials.

As a strong supporter of cancer research, Harris routinely volunteers in charity events, such as the Revlon Run/Walk and What A Pair, to raise funds and awareness.

Born and raised in Hopkins, MN, by a rock 'n' roll promoter dad and dancer mom who together created and produced one of the country's first renaissance festivals, King Richard's Faire Harris went on to graduate with honors from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, with her husband, Michael.

"Dancing With the Stars" co-host Samantha Harris has a new star in her life: She gave birth Sunday, September 23 to a baby girl.

Josselyn Sydney Hess weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. Both mother and child were doing well, publicist Shara Koplowitz said.
